I always felt for guilty for thinking the deformed trees were prettiest. The infectious trunk deformities could ruin a whole forest, but I would think it was beautiful.

This is a photograph of the woods around where I work.

I only dump my toxic waste in the Nevada desert, so that the only deformities are on the cactuses and Las Vegas hookers.

Those Trillium (or are they Paris) plants look amazing, carpeting the ground.

That tree looks anatomical.

They are, to the best of my knowledge, Trilliums. My mother spotted that as well. Apparently they have mostly died now, the leaves on the trees grow and shade them out. But at the time, they were everywhere.

I think that's their plan: get up early, before the tree leaves. Bluebells do the same in this country.

The Spanish ones are better at it than the native ones, unfortunately. Bristling chandelier-like bastards, killing off our delicately swan-neck-like variety.
